Seven-week Miracle Balloon Campaign Helps Fund Critical Medical Care for Local Kids

SAN ANTONIO,TX (December 7, 2016) — Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members across the San Antonio area and South Central Texas recently wrapped up a seven-week campaign, collecting more than $474,000 for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. It was part of a national campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals which resulted in $37.5 million raised for member hospitals across America.

Corner Store Raises More Than $493,000 for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio During Month-long Campaign

(San Antonio, TX – July 11, 2016) – During the month of April, Corner Store employees asked customers to purchase $1 or $5 Miracle Balloon icons to raise funds for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, one of 30 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® supported by the campaign. Harvey E. Najim Provides $1.5 Million Grant for New Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program

(San Antonio, TX – February 5, 2016) – The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio announced today the establishment of the Harvey E. Najim Blood & Marrow Transplant Center located on the Hospital’s 8th floor. The program will consist of both inpatient and outpatient treatment for children diagnosed with cancer or certain blood disorders. The program will be led by Dr. Veronica Jude, an experienced pediatric blood and marrow stem cell transplant physician.

Walmart and Sam’s Club Associates Raise $508,303 for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio During Six-Week Campaign

SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 27, 2015) — The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio partnered with 57 Walmart and Sam’s Club stores across San Antonio, Victoria and Laredo to raise $483,303 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals). Because of an additional incentive of $25,000 to the hospital in the market that raised the most funds, the total gift to The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio totals $508,303. Nationally, through donations accepted at cash registers and in-store fundraising activities, Walmart and Sam’s Club raised more than $42 million for the 170 hospitals that make up Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
